Overview
The Club’s operations are governed by:
- Legislation relating to the operation of sport and recreational model aircraft;
- Model Aeronautical Association of Australia Operating Procedures;
- Our Constitution; and
- Our By-Laws
Legislative framework
Airspace in Australia is regulated by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). The relvant legislative provisions are contained in Part 101 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations.
Model Aeronautical Association of Australia (MAAA)
Skyhawks is affiliated with the MAAA through our state body, Model Aerosport SA (MASA). Membership with Skyhawks includes MAAA membership, which is recognised at clubs nationwide.
MAAA provides liability insurance coverage for members, as well as a comprehensive suite of policies and procedures which govern elements of the Club’s operations.
Skyhawks Constitution
As an Incorporated Association, operations of Skyhawks are governed by our constitution. The Constiution deals with operational matters such as:
- Membership processes;
- Conducting meetings of members;
- Management of finances;
- etc
Skyhakws By-Laws
Our by-laws cover all aspects of joining and flying at Skyhawks. They govern how and when the field is to be used and are intended to reflect the various requirements from legislation, MAAA procedures and the Skyhawks Constitution.
